'Next Year in Jerusalem’ has been the heartfelt toast of the Jewish diaspora since the days of the Babylonian exile and Christians join with them in reverence and longing to experience the Holy Land. Spiritual home of the Christian faith, Israel is a small country filled with glorious and enriching sacred sights, from spiritually charged locations of Jesus’ life to ancient Hebrew and Roman ruins as well as vibrant towns, scenic olive groves, golden-sand beaches and beautiful synagogues and mosques.
Jerusalem, the ‘City after God’s Heart’ is the honey-stoned centre of Biblical history and a very living religious tapestry waiting to be explored. Join us to pray at the Western Wall, site of the former Jewish Temple of King Herod, Walk the Stations of The Cross around the Via Dolorosa in the Old City, pray at the Church of The Holy Sepulchre and many other sights.
Moving inland, we will spend time on the tranquil shores of the Sea of Galilee, the setting for so many Gospel events and take a boat along the very waters where Jesus called the fishermen to be ‘Fishers of men’. Ancient ruins will tell the stories of figures entwined with the Saviour’s life as well as churches, village houses and interacting with the local communities. Return home with a renewed vision and faith following this essential pilgrimage for anyone interested in both the life of Christ, the early church and the story of the Bible.
